A YOSSUM Group Retreat is designed for men and women ready to take the next step towards a deeper understanding of themselves as well as their yoga & meditation practice. Whether it is your 1st or 100th step, you will be gently guided by deeply caring and experienced teachers. At the core of every YOSSUM Group Retreat are the four pillars of the YOSSUM Process—Yoga Asana Practice, Silence Practice, Self-Understanding and Meditation. Self-Understanding and Meditation with Ma Prem KaliMa Prem Kali will engage, provoke and touch you with her Self-Understanding Workshops during the group retreat. It is here that insights about yourself and your behavioral patterns come to light. Self-Understanding brings the unconscious to the conscious. Kali is a world expert in the Enneagram system of personality types and will share with you the great advantages and pitfalls we each have within our particular personality structure. She helps you understand that your personality need not imprison you. Additionally, to take the workshop insights further and to apply them to your life situation, Kali offers private Self-Understanding Sessions that you can book during or in advance of the retreat. Time and again, most participants reflecting back on their YOSSUM Process agree that their private sessions with Kali were the unquestioned highlight of their retreat journey. Kali is a long time practitioner and teacher of meditation. The lion’s share of her 14 years living in Asia she dedicated to meditation practice. On group retreats, participants gather for sitting practice twice daily under Kali’s clear instructions and gentle guidance. Yoga Asana Group Classes with Lori SjollemaPlenty of time is set aside for yoga asana group classes: once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Our very gifted and experienced yoga teacher, Lori Sjollema, will guide you confidently through well-balanced asana programs. She gives clear instructions on how to properly move into and out of the postures and how to get the most out of each posture once you’ve got there by focusing on proper alignment and breath. Lori will also teach you proper pranayama breathing exercises for centering your mind and lead you through a Yoga Nidra relaxation that leaves you deeply refreshed and peaceful. Silence PracticeSilence is powerful. Silence raises your meditation and yoga asana practice to an entirely different level. Kali was in silence often during the 7 years she lived in the Indian Himalaya. She understands from direct experience the many benefits and advantages of Silence Practice. Kali will carefully prepare the entire group for a short period of Silence during the week—typically 24 hours. It is a time extremely valued by our participants. Kali and the YOSSUM Team will hold a container for you where it is safe to stay and look at yourself in silence. Available TherapiesAs well as the daily program, there will be time for rest, enjoying nature or making the most of the therapies available.
