Ma Prem Kali
Yossum Founder
Kali
is the founder and creator of Yossum:
a powerful and transformative process
of personal growth consisting of four
pillars — Yoga, Silence, Self-Understanding
and Meditation. She has been teaching
Yossum for seven years.
Kali was born in Brazil in 1963 and has
been practicing yoga since the age of
15.
After a prominent career in the fashion
business in São Paulo, she immigrated
to Australia, where she became interested
in spiritual development, embracing meditation
as a natural complement to her practice
of yoga.
In 1989, she moved to India and became
a disciple of Osho, the enlightened mystic,
participating and assisting in many workshops
and meditation programs at his international
center in Pune.
Her
inner exploration then took her to the
Himalayas, where for seven years she experienced
long periods of silence in meditation retreats
under the guidance of her teacher Swami
Prem Samdarshi.
She was then fortunate to meet Ramesh
Balsekar in Mumbai, the great Advaita
sage, and received his teachings for
four years.
After 13 years in India, Kali returned
to the West. She trained in the Enneagram,
a practical and powerful psychological
system of self-understanding.
The powerful synthesis of all that she
integrated from her spiritual teachers
and the Enneagram wisdom, ultimately
led her to create Yossum. This unique
process is her own approach to self-development.
It integrates yogic philosophy with the
ordinary challenges of day-to-day life.
Through her work, Kali offers her clients
and students the opportunity to experience
a deep-rooted sense of harmony, and acceptance
of self and others, which she believes
to be the foundation of a fulfilling
life.
Kali has personally designed the highly
structured programs presented in the
Yossum Retreats.
She also designs modules of meditation,
philosophy and self-understanding for
Yoga Teacher Training Schools, including
schools that provide certification with
the Yoga Alliance of the United States.
Kali
now lives in Marbella in the south of
Spain. When she is not delivering Yossum
Retreats, she works in private practice,
assisting people with their personal
journeys of self-understanding.
Gratitude
I am grateful to every person that crossed my life, for each one of them has added to my understanding of human nature. I could see myself through them, practice giving and receiving. They all contributed to YOSSUM’s birth.
Special heartfelt gratitude for their Presence, to:
Osho - my Master who showed me the way IN Samdarshi - whose Silent message delivered more than a million words Ramesh - the Sage that shows me the way out Ramana Maharshi - His grace continues to touch me every day.
Buddha - without whose wisdom life would
make no sense to me
"The world is full of half-enlightened masters. Overly clever, too 'sensitive' to live in the real world, they surround themselves with selfish pleasures and bestow their grandiose teachings upon the unwary. Prematurely publicizing themselves, intent upon reaching some spiritual climax, they constantly sacrifice the truth and deviate from the Tao. What they really offer the world is their own confusion. The true master understands that enlightenment is not the end, but the means. Realizing that virtue is her goal, she accepts the long and often arduous cultivation that is necessary to attain it. She doesn't scheme to become a leader, but quietly shoulders whatever responsibilities fall to her. Unattached to her accomplishments, taking credit for nothing at all, she guides the whole world by guiding the individuals who come to her. She shares her divine energy with her students, encouraging them, creating trials to strengthen them, scolding them to awaken them, directing the streams of their lives toward the infinite ocean of the Tao." - Lao Tzu : Chinese philosopher & mystic, founder of Taoism |
